About this property
4-star ski-in/ski-out hotel in Western Norway with three restaurants, two kids' playrooms, and the friendliest staff we've ever met. Empty slopes, fjord trips, and husky sledding on your doorstep. Full board is absolutely worth the upgrade.
Our honest review
We stayed 7 nights in February 2026 with Tallulah at 13 months old. Flew Jet2 from Gatwick (stayed at the Copthorne the night before for the 7am flight), then Inghams transfer with a stop in Voss. The hotel is incredible for families. They had a cot in the room ready for us and highchairs in the restaurant. The playroom was the game-changer - it's right next to the main restaurant, so when Tallulah got ratty during dinner we'd just nip out. Loads of toys for different ages. The staff were so lovely - they'd warm milk for her and never once charged for it. We started on B&B but upgraded to full board for £480 for two people for the week - best decision we made. The main restaurant was amazing (think proper Norwegian steak, beautiful desserts), and the breakfast buffet was a huge selection, really healthy. The pizza bar was the only slight disappointment - same cost as eating in the main restaurant on full board, so we felt like we missed out when we ate there. On our transfer day home they gave us bags to make a packed lunch from breakfast, which was a lovely touch. The slopes were the best I've ever skied for the sheer freedom of it. We got straight on the chairlift every time - no queues. Clear sun every day we were there. I even skied down the baby slope holding Tallulah which she loved. Bum sledging was fun too, though she was a bit small for walking in the snow herself. She did love sleeping in the pram outside in the cold though - proper Norwegian style. The absolute highlight was husky sledding. Once-in-a-lifetime experience, even though Tallulah somehow fell asleep in the sled. We walked up to see the Norwegian horses with the pram too, which was lovely. We also did a fjord cruise which was stunning - Tallulah was the entertainment for the other passengers, wandering up to people, dropping her lamby teddy and saying 'uh oh'. Everyone loved her. Practical bits: nappies available in the little shop next door, or take the bus to the local store. Pints are £14 at the top of the mountain and £12 in the hotel - Norway prices. We were happy with early nights though, which you naturally do with a little one. They had a kids' disco one evening which was fun for an hour. The water from the taps was incredible. The Inghams transfer and activity trips all provided car seats. For the coach transfer we grabbed the back row so Tallulah could lie down and sleep. Total cost was about £800 per person for flights, transfers, ski hire, lift pass and B&B, plus the £480 full board upgrade. So roughly £2,080 all-in for a week for our family of three. Not cheap, but genuinely can't fault it. We'd go back in a heartbeat.
